At Stitch Therapy! Come get your stitch on (no matter what kind of stitch it is – knitting, crochet, sewing, anything) at Scratch Brick Oven in Johnson City at the corner of Roan + Unaka (here’s a map). If there are too many people to meet in the shop, we’ll be 2 doors down, at the gorgeous Historic Eureka Inn (there’s parking behind the Eureka that you are welcome to use!) Bring your knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, braiding, sewing, stitching to the Eureka Inn in Historic Jonesborough for a time of fellowship, coffee and, of course, stitching!
Last week you voted on the lace you most wanted to knit…and you know what? You voted for two classes! Haruni got the most votes, but many of you, both in person and via email, expressed an interest in a learn to lace class. And Haruni really isn’t a great pattern to learn on. When a customer finds the perfect color, but it’s a sock yarn and she needs a worsted weight for her first sweater?
I email Mercedes (from Kitchen Sink Dyeworks) and she whips up the most perfect sweater yarn EVER. In 2 weeks!
Even better (for you!): she sent enough yarn to make another [...] Last Saturday we picked up the whole shop and most of the yarn and moved (for the day!) to Sycamore Shoals Fiber Festival, organized by the Over Mountain Weaver’s Guild. I had a really great time getting to know fiber-lovers from all over the area and sharing our yarn and classes with them. Towards the end of [...] Today we’re at the Sycamore Shoals Fiber Festival from 10am-5pm. Completely free and filled with demonstrations and ideas for EVERY kind of fiber-crafting! We are brining lots of yarn (some new yarns!), spinning fiber and shawl pins, so come by and say hello! March 13, 2010 (today!) PS.
